This is Christina's new room. We have moved her into a bigger room and bought some lovely new furniture.

Here is a photo of my living room and how it looks now after buying some furniture. I am in love with it, aren't you? Of course I need to put some colour on the walls but that will soon come.

Chrissy's First Big Party

Chrissy was invited to her first grown-up party on the weekend. She didn't last long. We left about 9pm. She was so tired and cranky.

Pilar is off to Washington

I think I had forgotten to mention that my "little" sister of only 26, has left her warm, comfortable and full service parents' home to embrace a new challenge in life. She left last Monday for Washington to study a LLM (Master in Laws) at Georgetown for a year.

She is really excited about this and looks forward to having "the time of her life". She arrived there on Tuesday and went straight to classes.

If everything goes ok I will be flying to Washington on Aug. 11th till the 29th. We plan to go to NYC for a couple of days (Pilar's Australian ex-boyfriend lives there and happily they've stayed friends over the years -he's come to Chile twice!). It will be a good break from work, family issues, routine and WINTER!!! I will also help her settle in and buy stuff for her apartment and also buy stuff for mine in IKEA!!!!! :-)

A sad day...

We said goodbye to Grandma yesterday. She died peacefully on Thursday and I was privileged to be with her that whole afternoon.

This photo is taken at Tiona where Grandma and Farva had a permanent caravan site and where Ros and I would spend a lot of holiday time with them.

I'll never forget the love and confidence Grandma instilled in me and hope that I can pass on some of that to Callum and his future family.

Engaged!!

Hi guys,

Thought that word would freak you all out! No, it isn't me - my sister and her boyfriend David became engaged yesterday! We are all thrilled and Mum has already started planning, well, at least the engagement party. Jason and I are in Newcastle at the end of the month so Mum's trying to organise something for that weekend.
